Shri Rama

In the Rama Kavach, it is said that Shri Rama’s hair is tied in a top knot — I’ve reflected that as a high crown. His skin, described as the color of a rain-filled cloud, inspired the tone of this painting. For scale, I drew from Le Corbusier’s Secretariat — a place close to my heart. As a child, my mother often took me to its vast library. Afterward, we would walk up the ramp to the rooftop café for dessert. I remember sunlight pouring through the square windows, casting bright patterns on the ground. I would laugh and try to leap through those boxes of light, filled with joy at getting all my fave things in one day: books, sweets, and time with Mumma. See Instagram for pics. Later in life, I discovered a joy of even greater magnitude — the peace that comes from surrendering to Shri Rama.
